Enhanced Protocols

RMT will inform patients of new procedures implemented on the business website, via email, and/or posted in the treatment room.

RMT and patients will maintain 6 feet or 2 metres of physical distance in clinic areas other than the treatment room.

RMT will call patients 24 to 48 hours before their appointments to complete pre-screening for COVID-19 symptoms and remind them of the new procedures implemented.

Patients are to arrive unaccompanied by other persons unless the patient is a minor and requires parent/guardian consent and assistance.

Patients are to wait outside the clinic, and maintain a physical distance of 6 feet or 2 metres from other people, or in their car until the RMT greets them and it is their appointment time.

Patients are requested to bring their own mask or cloth face covering, and are asked to wear it prior to entering the clinic and for the duration of treatment.

Upon entering the clinic and also after treatment, patients are required to wash their hands with soap and water for a minimum of 20 seconds.

Informed consent with new enhanced protocols will be obtained from the patient prior to receiving treatment. Treatment will not commence until consent is obtained.

Patients will not receive massage therapy treatment if they are sick or have flu-like symptoms or have recently returned from international travel in the past 14 days.

Patients are required to cancel or reschedule their appointments if they become sick or are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19.

All high-touch surfaces and common areas will be frequently cleaned with disinfectant, including (but limited to) counter tops, door handles, washroom, etc.

Soap and water and/or hand sanitizing stations will be made available to staff and patients.

RMT will have personal protective equipment (ie. disposable surgical masks, disposable gloves, protective eyewear) available should the patient or RMT request or require it.

RMT must use the BC COVID-19 self-assessment tool daily and stay home/cancel appointments if experiencing symptoms of COVID-19.

Linens must be single-use only and then laundered before next use. Equipment and supplies are to be cleaned and disinfected immediately after each patient.
